LONGMONT PERFORMING ARTS INITIATIVE, INC.
RECOGNIZED AS A 501(c)(3) NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION
The Longmont Performing Arts Initiative (LPAI) recently filed articles of incorporation with the Colorado Secretary of State to become a nonprofit corporation, Longmont Performing Arts Initiative, Inc.
Shortly thereafter, LPAI filed for status as a federally recognized, tax exempt nonprofit organization. The IRS approved the application, granting 501(c)(3) status to the organization.
The Longmont Performing Arts Initiative’s ongoing purpose is to support, encourage and educate the public concerning the benefits of performing arts in the Longmont and surrounding community.
LPAI is currently educating the public and raising awareness about the need for a dedicated performing arts facility in Longmont for the benefit of our community and the region in general.
“Having 501(c)(3) status does some very good things”, said Bob Balsman, LPAI President. “Donations directly to LPAI are tax deductible, the group will be able to apply for funding, and in general LPAI will be looked upon as a more official and solid organization.”
